More Americans Taking Road Trips This Summer Says Nissan Survey
When we think summer, we think summer travel plans. As we begin to adapt to some of the changes that have been put in place due to the current environment right now, many Americans are turning to recreational vehicles and boats as ways to get out while maintaining safe distances.
According to a Nissan survey, more people are road tripping with fun in tow this summer. That means that approximately 71 % of Americans are more comfortable traveling by car vs. air this summer. Nissan vehicles such as the Rogue, Armada, Pathfinder, and TITAN are all vehicles that have been rated for towing duty.
While there has been an increased interest in outdoor activities such as camping and boating, 28 percent of Americans have intentions to buy or rent a vehicle capable of towing within the next three months. For first-time towers, towing can be intimidating at first.
“Towing can be intimidating for first-timers and even those with experience,” said Jared Haslam, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America. “Before hitting the road, it’s important to do your homework and understand what your vehicle is capable of – and, just as importantly, understand that with the right vehicle and a bit of practice, you have all the tools necessary to pull off a dream vacation of wheels.”
To help those who are looking for towing trips, Nissan has put together a guide for anyone looking to get on the road this summer:
Nissan’s available Trailer Sway Control will help while towing. The feature helps keep trailers in line should wind or bad road conditions play a role. When preparing for your next summer road trip, the available Trailer Light Check system will allow a one-person-hook operation – checking turn signals, brake lights, and running/clearance lights from inside the cab or with the key fob.
“Whether it’s your first summer towing adventure or you’re an experienced outdoor enthusiast, Nissan has the complete lineup of tow-capable trucks and SUVs prime for a summer adventure,” added Haslam.
