Meet the 2027 Nissan Kicks Rock Creek

The Nissan Kicks has built its reputation as a stylish, practical compact SUV that’s right at home navigating busy streets and everyday commutes. For 2027, Nissan is giving the Kicks a more adventurous personality with the introduction of the 2027 Nissan Kicks Rock Creek. Revealed on August 13, the new Rock Creek expands the Kicks lineup with rugged styling, standard all-wheel drive and additional features designed for drivers who want to venture beyond the pavement. It brings Nissan’s increasingly popular Rock Creek treatment to its smallest crossover, joining models such as the Rogue and Pathfinder.
“The 2027 Kicks Rock Creek is for drivers who want more adventure from their daily drive, with trail-ready styling and added confidence when the road ends,” said Marco Fioravanti, vice president, product planning, Nissan U.S. and Canada. “With the addition of Rock Creek to an already well-equipped lineup, the 2027 Kicks continues to deliver the style, capability and value that have made it a favorite among customers.”
A More Rugged Take on the Nissan Kicks
The Rock Creek treatment immediately sets this Kicks apart from the rest of the lineup. Nissan gives the model a distinctive front grille, black exterior accents, unique 17-inch wheels, amber daytime running lights and Rock Creek-specific details. A functional roof rack with crossbars adds both style and utility, supporting up to 165 pounds of gear for bikes, kayaks and other equipment. The result is a Kicks that retains the modern, compact proportions that make it convenient for everyday driving while adding an unmistakably outdoors-inspired appearance.
Standard All-Wheel Drive
The new Kicks Rock Creek is based on the Nissan Kicks SV and comes standard with all-wheel drive, giving drivers additional confidence when conditions become challenging. Nissan also equips the Rock Creek with Hill Descent Control and a dedicated Off-Road drive mode. The Off-Road setting adjusts the traction-control system to permit additional wheel slip, helping the Kicks maintain momentum when traveling across loose surfaces.
The Rock Creek maintains the Kicks’ 8.4 inches of ground clearance, so it isn’t intended to transform Nissan’s compact crossover into an extreme off-roader. Instead, the package adds useful capability for drivers whose adventures might include dirt roads, campsites, trailheads or snowy New England conditions.
Familiar Kicks Performance
Under the hood, the 2027 Kicks Rock Creek continues with the familiar 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 141 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque and paired with a continuously variable transmission. Rather than focusing on additional horsepower, the Rock Creek package is about expanding what drivers can do with the Kicks. Its combination of standard AWD, dedicated drive settings and additional utility gives the compact SUV more versatility without sacrificing the everyday drivability that has helped define the Kicks.
Adventure-Inspired Interior Details
The Rock Creek personality continues inside.
The cabin receives exclusive upholstery and Rock Creek branding, giving the model an identity of its own. Additional comfort and convenience features include a heated steering wheel, heated front seats and heated outside mirrors, welcome additions for drivers dealing with colder New England weather. An Intelligent Around View Monitor provides a 360-degree view around the vehicle, making it easier to maneuver in tight parking areas and helping drivers see nearby obstacles when traveling off pavement. Ambient interior lighting adds another premium touch to the cabin.
Ready for Life Beyond the Pavement
What makes the Kicks Rock Creek particularly interesting is how it expands the personality of Nissan’s compact SUV. The regular Kicks remains an appealing option for commuting, errands and urban driving. Rock Creek takes that same practical formula and makes it better suited to an active lifestyle. For drivers here in Massachusetts, that could mean commuting during the week before loading up for a weekend along the North Shore, heading north to New Hampshire or Maine, or simply having the added confidence of AWD when New England weather takes a turn.
It’s still unmistakably a Kicks—just one that’s a little more prepared to get dirty.
2027 Nissan Kicks Rock Creek Price and Availability
The 2027 Nissan Kicks Rock Creek is expected to start at $30,385 including destination, placing it above the Kicks SV AWD on which it is based. It is scheduled to begin arriving at Nissan dealerships in summer 2027.
