Forty Years of Being an Icon: Nissan Maxima Celebrated With 40th Anniversary Edition
Nissan has hit a significant milestone this year.
The Nissan Maxima, also known as the original 4-door sports car, turns 40 this year, making it the longest-running Nissan nameplate in The United States. As a way to celebrate, the automaker is releasing a new Maxima 40th Anniversary Edition.
Here is what we can expect to see in the eighth-generation Nissan Maxima:
Unique two-tone Ruby Slate Gray Pearl exterior colors with black roof
Exclusive 19-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels
Black exterior finishers and trim badges, including 40th Anniversary badge
Black exhaust finishers
Red semi-aniline leather-appointed seating with 40 Anniversary embossing
Red contrast interior stitching
Satine Dark Chrome interior faceted finishers
White speedometer and tachometer faces reminiscent of past models
Heated rear seats
In addition to the 40th Anniversary Edition, the 2021 Maxima will be offered in SV, SR and Platinum grade levels – each equipped with a 300-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine and Xtronic transmission.
Over the years, the Maxima has been widely praised for its performance and overall safety. In fact, for the last five years in a row, the sedan has taken home a Top Safety Pick + award by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The 2021 Nissan Maxima 40th Anniversary Edition will go on sale this fall.
